10 Mar ’15 when RAB disappeared Home Min Salahuddin, remembered

During the 15 years of fascist Hasina regime, it was horrible to express the dissent voices. Things got worse when RAB got freedom to kill, disappear and unleash any injuries and injustice on the opposition colophony.

Disappearance is the worst crime can ever be committed on the human history. During the uprisings or war, this tactic has been adopted by the extreme ruthless rogue states across the world, from the Latin American nations to the Arab countries like Syria ,Lybia and in some progressive countries it was a practice for a while. Hasina and enablers followed this strategy right at the time of strikes and opposition by the BNP, Jamaat and their associates. Salahuddin Ahmed, the spokesperson of the alliance, was seriously under the surveillance by the RAB. One night on 10 March at Uttara sector 3 ,he was resting at the residence of his friend “Hasnat” . Some plain clothed men identifying themselves as DB asked the whereabouts of the 20 party coordinator. The night guards did not want to allow but they failed and Salahuddin Ahmed was forced out of the residence to an unknown location which later was known to all RAB. Hearing the news, his wife and family members rushed to the OC Uttara police station Rafiqul Islam who categorically denied to accept any kind of General Diary or disapperance related accusation. Later on , after much debates , terms , conditions, a GD was written. However, for 61 days ,he was kept alive like an animal in the Zoo,in a grave like cave which was ultimately destroyed by RAB after the 5 th August. Salahuddin after 61 days, was traced in Shilong , Kolkata and was admitted to mental hospital as they made him as “Mimhans” . Due to extreme trauma , he could not recall anything except his closest family members. He could reach his wife in Bangladesh over the phone and he found a new life. Now,the law and order situation is totally under his control. This is extremely imperative that he is under huge pressure of expectations from the families of disappeareds and all who have been undergoing this trauma. One of the primary recommendations of this will be to establish A national trauma healing center and gradually it’s branches in 64 districts of Bangladesh .Most of the people who underwent such matters have to be nurtured and taken to normalcy. The Home minister along with the health minister have to address this concern and find a sustainable solution to the problems faced by all during the Fascist Hasina regime.
