
Tubercolosis was one of the deadliest diseases of the history. To celebrate this day, a colorful rally and scientific seminar was organized by Health ministry with the theme of World Tuberculosis Day 2026 “Yes, We Can: End TB”.

The initiative for the said event was taken by the Chest and Heart Association of Bangladesh. This important event was attended by Dr. M.A. Muhith, State Minister for Health of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Professor Dr. Harun Al Rashid, President, DAB, Dr. Zahirul Islam Shakil, Secretary General, DAB and President Chest and Heart Association of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Prabhat Chandra Biswas (PC Biswas), DG, Directorate General of Health, Professor Dr. Zahid Raihan, Additional Director General, DG Health, Mohakhali, Dhaka, Dr. Golam Sarwar Liaquat Hossain Bhuiyan, Honorable Director, National Chest Diseases Institute and Hospital. The speakers at the event said that TB prevention and eradication is possible, the current government is working towards this goal, it is hoped that the people will enjoy its benefits very soon.

Speakers stressed the need to make sure on due and immediate medicare for the TB and raise awareness among the rural communities of the country. They also appreciated the health services and workers for consistent activities of the TB and aspired TB to be an easily recoverable disease.
