The Doctors Association of Bangladesh ( DAB) held a programme on titled “Proclaimer of Liberation war & fighter Zia ” on 31 st March 11 am at the National Press club where the speakers the stressed the emergency need to reclaim the history of Bangladesh and evaluate deprived anti-fascist, pro- Bangladesh nationalist doctors, health workers and others.
The programme was presided over by the Dr Harun al Rashsid, President of DAB and General Secretary Dr Zahirul Islam Shakil including Dr Forhad Halim donar, the chief adviser of DAB.
Speakers addressed the key concerns of the doctors and urged the Minister of Information to uphold the true history of the 1971. Zahir uddin swapan narrated how Zia’s name was vilified and BNP was on the verge of a new challenge.He demonstrated some aspects of the Liberation war and urged all to show due respect to all who had legacy in 1971 stressing the need to declare Ziaur Rahman as the formal announcer of the Liberation war. State Minister of Liberation War , Son of Mayor Sadeq Hossain Khoka, that the Zia was the main icon of the 1971 as I heard from my father who fought the Pakistanis face to face. We will uphold spirit of 1971 all the time.”
The programme was initially anchored by Dr Zahirul Islam Shakil and later on handed over to Dr Mehedi Hasan who successfully drew to an ending. Huge crowds from all walks of life attended the program.
