Russia has expanded aspirations to discuss expanding legal framework with Bangladesh to strengthen military cooperation which posters warmest relations between two nations.
On March 31, Russian Ambassador Alexander Khojin and Military, Air and Naval Attaché Colonel Pavel Ivashinnikov held a meeting with the Principal Staff Officer of the Bangladesh Armed Forces Division, Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman, on military and technical cooperation.
Both warmly exchanged views and contexts on existing and potential areas of cooperation between Russia and Bangladesh. At the same time, the issue of expanding the legal framework to strengthen bilateral military cooperation also came up with importance.
Incidentally, Bangladesh is owed MI-171 series helicopters from Russia for the Bangladesh Police. Although they wanted to deliver the helicopters to Bangladesh, the delivery date of the helicopters was postponed during the previous interim government to avoid additional hassles due to President Trump’s global tariff issue.
