He knows and deeps feels that it is the opportunity to demonstrate people what we learnt from Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia tenures. So PM has made relentless work ethic for the people of the country is one of the hallmarks of his leadership!

BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman shouldered the burden of responsibility from the very scratch . And even though the night was deep, his work did not stop. He has set a unique example of this relentless work for the people of the country—working for 16 hours straight. On Thursday (April 2, 2026), Prime Minister Tarique Rahman worked for about 16 hours straight from morning to midnight. He started the day’s work at the Secretariat at exactly 9 am. Upon arriving at his office, he had sharp attention and determination in settling files, meetings and making important decisions one after another. Time was just a means of fulfilling his duties for him; there was no place for fatigue there. The afternoon passed by as he took decisions on various important issues of the country, but his work ethic did not decrease at all.
Then, after completing the important work of the Secretariat, he joined the Parliament session at 3:30 pm. Her active presence in Parliament till 8 pm to discuss nationally important issues, formulate policies and reflect the expectations of the people is a living reflection of a statesman’s responsibility. Even then, the day’s program was not over. The cabinet meeting began at 8:45 pm at the National Parliament Secretariat. There was a long discussion there on the country’s overall development, crisis management and future plans. Finally, the meeting ended after 11:30 pm. After that, the Prime Minister worked in her own office at the Parliament Secretariat again. Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Atiqur Rahman Rumon said that the Honorable Prime Minister worked continuously from 9 am to 11:50 pm on Thursday. He said that working 12 to 14 hours a day is almost a regular routine for her, but today it has reached almost 16 hours. The Additional Press Secretary further said, “These long working hours are not just a statistic, it is a message for the countrymen. When many people go to rest at the end of the day, a leader still stays awake for the country, for the future.” Meanwhile, according to political analysts, this is a symbol of an unwavering commitment to the country, the people and responsibility. This relentless effort of the Prime Minister reminds us anew that leadership is not just about sitting in a seat of power; rather, taking the responsibility of the nation on one’s shoulders at every moment is what true leadership is all about.
