Ambassador Yao Wen Calls on H.E. Mr. Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Hon’ble Minister of Finance and Planning

On March 9, H.E. Mr. Yao Wen, Ambassador of China to Bangladesh, called on H.E. Mr. Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Hon’ble Minister of Finance and Planning of Bangladesh. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on China-Bangladesh economic and trade cooperation.

Ambassador Yao congratulated Bangladesh on the successful holding of its national election and extended his congratulations to Mr. Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury on assuming the role of Minister of Finance and Planning. Ambassador Yao stated that economic and trade cooperation has always been a vital pillar of China-Bangladesh relations. Over the 50 years of diplomatic ties, China has implemented numerous livelihood projects in Bangladesh, created hundreds of thousands of jobs, and provided timely assistance in areas such as disaster relief and healthcare, playing a significant role in improving the well-being of the Bangladeshi people. China will continue to develop the China-Bangladesh government-to-government cooperation projects into high-quality, exemplary, and flagship initiatives to promote Bangladesh’s economic and social development.

Mr. Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury thanked Ambassador Yao for his congratulations and expressed gratitude for China’s longstanding contributions to Bangladesh’s economic and social progress. He reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to maintaining friendly relations with China and expressed eagerness to continue advancing China-Bangladesh government-to-government cooperation projects, for the greater benefit of the peoples of both nations.
