
Today at the Dhaka Cantonment darbar hall the Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited, greeted everyone warmly and delivered speech to the audiences. Three Chiefs of the Armed forces, the Defence Minister Brig Gen Dr Shams, Principal Staff officer, and almost senior, medium level, Junior officers attended the program.

In his speech, PM said that he is also a part of military fabric. He wants officers enjoy expected remunerations and life style according to changing circumstances. Officers are expected to be professional, competent and patriotic. He urges all not to serve any party but the country first.

Prime Minister appreciated role of Armed forces before and after 5 th August aftermaths. He also found it Nostalgic and deeply personal that he was quite close to whistles of Army and he recalls memories of President Zia, his mother Begum Khaleda Zia, his brother and their house in Cantonment Shahid Moinul Road. Everything like these were deeply personal to him. PM strongly demonstrated his wills to keep the July charter promises fulfilled according to democratic process.

Prime Minister stressed importance an Army with solidarity, self-determination and dignity. He dreams to make an Army with balanced leaderdhip and professionalism.

This darbar has marked a dawn of a new era. The Armed forces legacy will continue to be recognised. In this darbar, there was a question and answer session and PM answered all questions accordingly.
