The Prime minister Tarique Rahman today awarded Independence award to some of the key individuals and out of all, Begum Khaleda Zia, the eminent three time Prime Minister has been a notable figure. Today at Osmani Memorial hall, the PM at the presence of other Ministers awarded this to some key people of the country.
Zayma Rahman, Bar at law, received the prize on behalf of Begum Khaleda Zia. Dr Zafarullah Chowdhury’s son also recieved the prize for his father who kept big roles in fighting Hasina’s fascist regime.
Eminent Ittadi host Hanif Sanket also got this award. This year, it became a clear sign of sigh for people when the country has witnessed such an impressive turn.
Dr Sukomal Barua, professor of Sanskrit and Pali of Dhaka University hasalso been nominated for the prize. More women leaders in health, family, research has also been awarded this year.
