RAOWA demands BDR carnage,Maj Zia & Sinha issues be fixed

Chairman and the Joint Secretary of Retired Armed forces officers Association (RAOWA) today approached & greeted with a cordial gesture with the Home Minister to discuss several significant issues concerning retired military community, especially of 2009 BDR carnage and false cases against Major Syed Sayed Ziaul Haque, 41 BMA long course sword of honour, whose life and carrier have been ruined by Fascist Hasina’s misappropriate tagging as so-called “militant” of numerous outfits.

  • The discussion delved into suspension & review of the death reference related to Maj Sayed Ziaul Haq.
  • Expeditious disposal of the appeal process and execution of the verdict in the murder case of Maj Sinha involving former OC Pradip and SI Liakat.
  • Progress regarding the inquiry report on the BDR Carnage was a key point of discussion.

During the meeting, the Home Minister acknowledged concerns regarding the perceived injustice faced by Maj Zia and assured that efforts would be made to explore lawful avenues so that justice may be ensured and the matter reviewed appropriately.

Regarding the Maj Sinha murder case, Home Minister informed that, after consultation with the Law Minister, due steps would be taken to expedite the appeal proceedings at the Supreme Court in accordance with legal procedures.

On the issue of the BDR Carnage inquiry report, the Home Minister assured that actions would be taken in line with the recommendations of the Independent Board. He further mentioned that, at present, there may be no requirement for a separate judicial board on the matter.
At the concluding phase of the meeting, the Home Minister advised RAOWA representative to meet the Law Minister and brief him on the discussions held, as further legal guidance and coordination may be required for future proceedings.
