A national seminar on “Government priorities and challenges in the health and nutrition sectors to build a healthy Bangladesh” organized by “Healthy Bangladesh” at the Dhaka Club today.
The speakers addressed the challenges and future plans concerning the health sector. In Bangladesh, people are less aware regarding nutrition and foods. Government has been struggling to cope up with existing malnutrition challenges due to lack of awareness among the masses. However, it is imperative that a clear guidelines on the comprehensive national nutrition sector must be developed, the speakers urged.
Dr. Ziauddin Haider, Health Advisor to the BNP Chairperson, served as the chief guest, alongside Dr. MA Muhith, State Minister for Health, Dr. Nazmul Islam Sumon, Director General of the Directorate of Health Education, Dr. Zahirul Islam Shakil, Secretary General of the Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB), Professor Dr. Foara Tasnim, ADG Planning at the Directorate of Health, BMRC Director Dr. Saifuddin Benur, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health, WHO Country Director, UNICEF Country Director, Professor Dr. Saifullah Munshi, Director of Bangladesh Medical University Super Specialist Hospital, Barrister Rasnma Iman, supreme court lawyer of Bangladesh and various professors from medical colleges who attended as special guests.
